Got another Carvin BRX10.2 in February and it is a loud cabinet. Alot louder than my other one. If I try using both cabs together, my amp goes into protect mode (Genz Benz GBE600). I took the side handle off and I have 2 4ohm speakers making the cab a 2ohm cab. Called CS and spent 15 minutes arguing with the guy that 2 4ohm speakers don't make a 4 ohm cab. He then just said send it back. WTF? I don't want to spend $70 to send it back. Why can't they just send me the right speakers?

You can wire two 4 ohm speakers to get 8 ohms.

Or I can wire 2 4ohm speakers to equal 2 ohms. The cab is sold as 4 ohm cabinet. I don't want a 2 or 8 ohm cab.

Sounds to me like a new CS Rep.

I'd call again and ask for someone else. I've heard very few Carvin nightmare strories that couldn't be resolved with another phone call...

If you do have 2 - 4 ohm drivers then you definitely have a 2 ohm cabinet, something you don't want. Although Carvin heads can handle 2 ohm loads many competitive brands will not, and you don't want to risk it.

If you got the cabinet new with those drivers, you definitely should contact Carvin and work out an arrangement to exchange the 4 ohm drivers for 8 ohm units. A 4 ohm cabinet won't be as loud but your amp head will definitely be happier.

I took the advice and talked to a different CS. He shipped out a brand new cab and sent a UPS call tag to return my 2 ohm cab. Sweet!

That's pretty much how it works. Anytime I've had an issue with a new item that's what they have done.
