The BRX10.4 and BRX10.2 claim that with the neo 10" speakers, the frequency response goes down to 26 and 28 Hz, respectively. Both of these are lower than open string B0 on a 5-string bass. Yet, when I look at the specs for the speakers themselves, the response is listed only down to 50 Hz, which doesn't even cover an open E string, as 50 Hz is somewhere between G1 and Ab1.
Can someone explain the difference to me? Is it the shape of the cabinet? The simultaneous use of multiple speakers? The porting of the cabinet? A combination of all of these factors? Why is there a difference in listed frequencies?
So, I have a V210 cabinet with 2 PS10 speakers. The individual speakers are rated at 60 Hz. The entire cabinet is rated at 60 Hz. What were to happen if I were to swap out those speakers with two of these neo 50 Hz speakers? What would the expected response be? |

I'm no cab guru or sound engineer type, (and I didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night) but I think it has to do with the way the cabinet is tuned, and how or whether it is ported. |
